About me - current project:

Steve Brown, a graduate of the UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting, holds dual degrees in Journalism and English from the University of Arizona. In 2023, he transitioned from corporate copywriting (for popular brands such as Nintendo and Kaplan Test Prep) to fully pursue a career in screenwriting. Today, he maintains a focus on mysterious, cerebral, sci-fi storytelling with built-in, thought-provoking social commentary. Steve’s works, while always grounded in reality, take a deep dive into collective consciousness, spirit science, mysticism, ancient symbology, and other curious phenomena. His latest project, THE AGE OF THE EMPATH, is a mysterious, suspenseful, one-hour, sci-fi teleplay. LOGLINE: In a futuristic, war-torn world on the brink of collapse, a woman’s mind-bending scientific research holds the key to humanity’s salvation. But an ancient and powerful order violently opposes her at every turn.

Laurels, awards and other accomplishments:

In less than two years, Steve has garnered more than 300 awards, including wins at the Richmond International Film Festival, NexTV Writing & Pitch Competition, Los Angeles Film & Script Festival, Pasadena International Film Festival, and 58th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. In addition, he has been a quarterfinalist in the Nicholl Fellowship -- and finalist in the Dallas International Film Festival, Vail Film Festival, BOLT, Cinequest Film Festival, Writers X Writers, Filmmatic Inroads Fellowship, Big Apple Film Festival, Creative World Awards, and Script Summit, among others.
