About me - current project:

My name is Savina Hall-Parker. I am a writer, producer and director. I have taught theater as the owner of “Vina’s Playhouse”. VPH is a fresh play-writing company that provides the passion and the love for what they do in every script. Rather, it’s a script written for a client or script performed for an audience. VPH (Vina’s Playhouse) is a place where souls are won by laughter, tears, and just the feeling when we are on stage. VPH makes certain that God is in every performance. Their goal is to heal broken hearts and troubled minds and to bring clarity and happiness to all. I have written many plays, short films, and skits. “The Curse Is Broken” is a play which we feel is needed to be seen by all. I wrote The Curse Is Broken in 2012; it was performed to a sold-out crowd from 2013-2014. I wrote this story with our black families in mind. In some households communicating about difficult topics are not easy and usually swept under the rug. The Curse Is Broken is about a family faced with hurdles and being forced to face their past, their pain, hurt and regrets. Every consequence has its story and the story is revealed. However, sometimes no matter how much we have changed for the better, and learned from those past mistakes we may have to take a loss.
