About me - current project:
Caroline Liviakis has made her mark as a bold choreographic voice: a modern vision for a new generation of Artistic Directors. She has now started her journey as a director, bringing her dance creations to life through film. In the past year and a half, she has directed, produced, and choreographed three short films: Better Than You Doin You (don’t be mad), INeasyOUTbreezy, and i know why the bright eye dies.
Liviakis has been featured by: MovieMaker Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Marin Independent Journal, Skyline View, The Ark, BayAreaDanceWatch, backstage.com, and SF/ARTS Magazine. There’s A New Kid In Town, was selected as a ‘Critic’s Pick’ for the San Francisco Chronicle. Better Than You Doin You (don’t be mad), won the award of ‘Best Dance Film’ at the Hollywood New Director’s Film Festival and was a nominee for “Best New Media” for the 2019 NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Best Of Awards.
Liviakis has taught film and dance at: St. Mary’s College of California, Napa Valley College, Skyline College, College of Marin, and Mills College.
She has written the screenplays for two feature film dance-musicals: Welcome To My Runway and Alternative Chick. She is currently in the production process for her next short film, Boys and Girls. She is also in the midst of writing her first children’s book and musical.
