About me - current project:

I am a big believer in learning by doing. I want to learn how to be a better film maker. So, what do I do? Make films. I am always working on something. I've made a few short films for my YouTube channel: Alex Guzman. Currently, I am working on a new animated short film about acceptance. Film to me is a great way to express myself, challenge myself creatively and emotionally and impact the world around me.

Laurels, awards and other accomplishments:

I am the executive producer of my high school journalism program. Through this program, I was able to borrow a camera and an editing system to make my first short film titled: The Chains of Boredom and Anxiety (on YouTube). After making it, I submitted it to a video making competition called the Student Educational Video Awards (SEVA) where I won a SEVA under the Creative Expression category. Here I am now a year later. I've made 5 short films since then including "An Emotional Night" which was accepted into another film festival. Now, I am trying to submit it to as many festivals as I can to expand my audience and build more connections in the film industry.
