F.O.F is a production of California Film Foundation and part of Sacramento Film Festival 2026. For nearly two decades this creative collaboration has honored the best in film and fashion by combining the 2! Part live fashion show and part film screening, F.O.F. brings the best talent of both worlds under 1 roof for a multi-media, entertainment extravaganza!

The SYNERGY CHALLENGE is a collabo Lab where emerging designers, models and filmmakers unite to redifine the FASHION MOVIE. More than just a competition the SYNERGY CHALLENGE is a platform for you to 2026 Fashion Film: Unmute Your creative brand.
What is the Synergy Challenge?
F.O.F. is challenging local creators to blend high fashion artistry with cinematic storytelling. The idea is to produce bold, innovative short films for the main FASHION ON FILM event held during the Sacramento Film Festival, Summer 2026.
What is the Cast and Crew Call Event?
On April 21st, participating designers, cosmetologists, and models will present their work at the Cast and Crew Call event. Filmmakers and photographers are invited to show their work as well. During this "getting to know you" process, teams will form as we prepare for may the 9th, the actual shoot day.
What happens on May 9th:
This is a one day shooting event incorporating the teams comprised of filmmakers, photographers, fashion designers, models and creatives! The goal is to get a film shot and in the can in just one day! Created teams will have 6 hours to shoot short films using the Reunion Underground and beautiful Old Sac surroundings as their backfrop.
From there, team leaders will have 2 weeks to edit the project into a final film. Films will be delivered via web portal to the festival director by Sunday May the 24th.
All films must be no longer than 4 minutes in length and must contain music and the Old sacramento background. In essence, these are short music videos where..."The Frame Your Runway."
This is a community event. Noone is paid. The point is to create SYNERGY by finding teams that will come together! It's your time! Own the Screen. Own the Scene!
Cinematic Style, 2026. Let's Collaborate!
Each synergy Challenge team leader will submit their final product. only the best of the best will make it to a WORLD PREMIERE at The Sacramento International film festival later this summer. Teams compete for $1k grand prize! Selected films will be part of the FOF LIVE event in August as part of the 31st SacFilmFest!
