Sacramento's own Tower Records was once the dominant force in retail music, worldwide.

From its humble beginnings in the Tower building (where the film will screen) Tower Records went on to conquer San Francisco, LA and eventually, to become what South by Southwest describes as "the heart and soul of the music world".

This empire known as Tower, built by an unlikely King Solomon (Russ Solomon) was once synonymous with recorded music. What was this world like at its apex? What went wrong? Who were the amazing people that brought us this uniquely Sacramento landmark?

Actor/Director Colin Hanks

As the film's title name implies, eventually Tower's light faded. On April 26th, SFF brings a powerful documentary that examines a certain time and place in American culture and world history; a compelling look at a company, a legend and a part of Americana lost, perhaps forever.
