The Other Barrio...As if ripped from today's headlines reporting fires, evictions and protests, "The Other Barrio" tells the story of housing inspector Roberto Morales, played by Sacramento native, Richard Montoya (Nacho Libre, Encino Man) as he investigates the suspicious circumstances of a fatal fire in a residential hotel in San Francisco’s Mission District and finds himself face to face with murder in the streets, corruption at City Hall and the mysterious Sophia Nido (Veronica Valencia), a beautiful but dangerous flame from his past.
Directed by Dante Betteo and based on a short story by San Francisco Poet Laureate Alejandro Murguia. Adapted for the screen by Dante Betteo and Richard Montoya.
