Berenice Molina

Producer, Casting Director, Talent Manager

Berenice Molina is of Mexican Salvadoran descent. Raised on the streets of LA, she grew up in the shadow of Los Angeles gang culture, watching her father and brothers cycle through addiction, violence, retaliation, and prison.

At the age of 15, she became a teen mom and later almost lost her son to street life. Ultimately, she made the choice to put her time and energy into owning her ability as a casting director and filmmaker to provide opportunities to others who can relate to her.

THIS MEETING will introduce actors to an AMAZING Hollywood casting director, Berenice Molina!
At the end of the meeting Berenice will help us support our FASHION ON FILM cast and crew!
STAY TUNED and look below for MORE FOF details!

Since its launch in 2017, her firm, URA/From the Streets to the Set, has cast hundreds of formerly incarcerated or gang-involved individuals in over 50 film, TV, and theater projects.

Not all of the actors go in seeking rehabilitation, but it’s a common outcome. In here own words, Berenice says: “When they start rehearsals and having to commit to something other than the block, it wakes them up. They see, oh, more is possible.”

Some are building solid entertainment careers. Actor Alex Gibson (Die Like a Man’s Boom Boom) started working with URA fresh off an 11-year prison sentence. Today, he works regularly across stage, screen, and television.

And then there’s Berenice’s son. Initially, he followed in her footsteps, cycling through the same street life patterns she’d left behind. But when he saw Die Like a Man filming in his mother’s literal backyard, he had his own “a-ha” moment of wanting to change. He appeared in a pivotal scene in the movie and got hungry for more. Today, he’s a SAG actor and motivational speaker, filming and presenting to audiences across the world.

Berenice puts it this way: "Everyone wants the happy ending, the transformation, the endurance, the light at the end of the tunnel..BUT they can't stand the pressure..It's not about a finish line it's about what the journey reveals...Don't give up in the process." 🙏🏽 MEET Berenice, and be inspired: exclusively at CFF's the Breakdown!
