WHAT IS IT:
The A-Team is an intensive volunteer Digital Marketing and Public Relations INTERNSHIP. Volunteer interns are treated as apprentices learning a trade. The opportunity is intended for persons seriously interested in pursuing a 21st-century career in the fields of digital marketing, media, and public relations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Must be self-motivated
2) Must be able to take initiative
3) Must be teachable..NO know-it-alls.
4) Must be available to work AND for A-Team Teleconference Meetings weekdays from 2-6pm. In addition, must be available for Festival events as they happen. Interns will receive specific info ahead of time re. event schedules.
5) Must have basic computer/web literacy and strong connection to the internet.
6) Must be able to work independently for at least 16 hours each week.
BENEFITS:
1) Apprentice/Intern will receive in-depth job mentoring in PR and marketing.
2) Apprentice/Intern will receive curriculum-based education in concepts of PR marketing plus real-world application opportunities.
3) At end of successful term, Apprentice/Intern will earn a recommendation letter by the Sacramento International Film Festival.
4) Volunteer Intern/Apprentices learn what it takes to create and promote events from the ground up. They learn the secret techniques employed by successful event promoters and marketers. These techniques give the volunteer a lifetime of valuable real-world experience that neither money nor book learning can buy.
5) The volunteer/Intern receives the satisfaction of knowing that his/her efforts matter and that by learning from a community-based organization, he/she is supporting our community. It is truly a win-win benefit.
DUTIES:
A-Team members are responsible for all aspects of the festival including digital marketing, promotion, content creation and administration. working in partnership with community organizations we will put on the greatest film festival Sacramento has ever seen!
Media Creation: Interns will create video and multi-media events, promotional, and public service announcements to inform the public on festival-related activities.
Web Promo - working via FB, Twitter and all online promotional avenues, this team member will affect targeted and specific campaigns to promote the festival to audiences, as well as business and government partners.
Street Team - produces flyers, posters and finds places to distribute for promotion of festival
Administration - Aligns filmmakers, speakers and special guests for CFF ongoing operations and Film Festival-specific events. Ensures that meetings run on time and that all meeting materials are ready. Also administers database for CFF/SFF.
Marketing/Sales - Sells sponsorships and enrolls attendees in various festival programming like "Film School 101" and "Digital Odyssey" special events.
Community Partnerships - Works with stakeholder groups to create dynamic partnerships which increase attendance and interest in festival.
