My movie Lucifer and the Magus should have won some kind of award, however it was in a category that did not win any awards at all. The movie was hidden in the Sac-Animation segment, but there was never an award for best animation. What's up with that? Not even best "fantasy"? Best visual effects? Nothing? I mean heck, the music by itself should have gotten an award.

I am appreciative of the fact that it was in the festival. But I was expecting a bit more "exposure". An audience outside those involved with the movie and a few family members. Not that Marty didn't mention the movie and when it would be shown. He did some plugs. I suck at public relations! But I think the Sac-Animation segment would have gotten more exposure if the movie trailer for Lucifer and the Magus was exposed on front page for the public to see.

Perhaps the secondary exposure, unlike second-hand smoke, will actually have some influence. ;)

So much for being ambitious, eh? Perhaps I should do comedy instead??

Note to self: Hire publicist.

The irony: A movie that I spent over a year on didn't get an award or first-hand exposure, but a 30 second promo that I threw together in about 3 hours won an award. Wah wah waaahhh....

  • And thank god I am not George Lucas. :)

  • My issue really is not an award but, having more people view it. An IMDB user review would be enough for me.

  • Ah yes Charles, the strange hand of fate. How bout this for Irony: Did you know STar Wars dod NOT win best picture?? Star Wars!!

You know what it lost to? Annie HAll...The Woddy Allen picture...Now Woddy is no slouch but 35 years later how many people are talking about Annie HAll? I mean really!

Now look, I'm not saying you are George Lucas. I'm just saying, all things considered, you're doing pretty good on the awards. Heck, most folks don't even get into this festival. Wah, wah, wah ;)
