Community Radio News November

The Local Community Radio Act continues to move quickly through Congress! On Thursday, November 19 at 10 AM, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation will vote on the bill (S.592). Building on the unanimous passage out of the Energy & Commerce Committee in the House of Representatives, this progress in the Senate is the next step towards passage. Help us win this important victory for community media! For more information about the campaign and to sign up for email alerts, check out: expandlpfm.org Would your community benefit from a non-commercial radio station that features your neighbors' voices and broadcasts local news, music, and public affairs? Well, for a few communities across the country, now may be the opportunity to start such a station. The FCC is opening up another window for Full Power Non-Commercial Educational (NCE) licenses from February 19-26, 2010. Unlike the last NCE window, these licenses are only available in 65 specific locations across the country.
