LAUREN and ROBIN
The California Film Foundation pays profound tribute and a fond farewell to these two screen legends. Please look below for more on both. In the case of Mr. Williams is is especially painful, not only in the manner and untimeliness of his passing but in that he meant so much to Northern California and our local film scene.
Many of our CFF members have known Mr. Williams personally and will be contributing personal statements below. Meanwhile, we bid a fond adieu...and as Bogey would have said.."Here's lookin at you kid"

THE STUDENT OF ROBIN LOVES THE TEACHER AND MENTOR
RESPECT ALL HE TOUCHED
Robin Williams will surely be missed. When I say that what I mean is that an amazing creative light has gone out. He is no longer here to touch us, to instruct us, to show us how. Once Robin came to the Computer shop on Market street where my friend Nychelle worked. He was the most unassuming, polite, kind man. An everyman. Not a celebrity. In that brief exchange he showed us his kindness. He took what could have been an awkward celebrity sighting and made it personal, special on a completely different level. Thanks Robin. Thanks for your art. Thanks for your heart.
One of the best Robin tributes we have found:

Back during my "Hollywood" days I was filming a CD ROM game called "WING COMMANDER IV" at Raleigh Studios inside one of the sound stages. Across from me in another sound stage was a film entitled "BIRD CAGE" being filmed. That was when I met the uber-talented Robin Williams. One thing I've learned not all of us have equal talent and that's ok. However, there are some that have been blessed from the good Lord himself....So was the case with Robin Williams. Here's to setting the standards when it comes to performing. May he rest in peace and God bless his family. So sad.....,but we will continue to do the work.
