WHAT ARE THE CHARLIES: The Sacramento Film Awards (AKA: The Charlies) recognizes the amazing plethora of talent from our region and beyond through juried awards given to the films and filmmakers of the Sacramento Film festival and American Screenwriters Conference.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE SELECTIONS: In addition to our juried awards, "The Charlies" also recognizes regional talent that has NOT necessarily had a film in this year's festival. We call this the "PEOPLE'S CHOICE"; 5 categories of nominees selected by YOU! There are TWO ROUNDS of voting. The 1st is to select the CLASS of this year (the top 5 vote-getters in each category). In round two we publicize the top 5 and ask you to vote again for "CLASS PRESIDENT" (or, the very top vote-getter), who is then singled out for additional recognition at the event.
